Mountains have always been a source of awe and inspiration. They are also vital ecosystems which billions of people depend upon. Massive ranges such as the Himalayas, Andes, Rockies, and Alps affect weather, water distribution, and the ranges of plants and animals over entire continents. Facing immense challenges from climate change, logging and mining, and habitat loss, these rugged and beautiful landscapes need our help.
As Colorado natives, mountain environments are near and dear to us. That is why we have chosen Colorado Open Lands as the recipient of donations from our Mountain Valley candles. This wonderful group has preserved over half a million acres of Colorado mountain forest over the past forty years. Their proven track record of making big change with modest resources makes us proud to assist them.
We are truly blessed to live in a place as beautiful as Colorado. Our Mountain Valley candles evoke some of our fondest mountain memories. The scent of the trees envelops you while underneath you smell the wildflowers in the field and the berries growing down by the stream. Everything just feels right. Exactly the way our candles are made. Using the most sustainable ingredients and packaging possible while including a donation to preserve and protect forests just feels right.
Fundamental to our mission of creating greener products is partnering with like minded businesses, NGOs, and civic organizations. From the farmers growing our raw materials to the trucks delivering our candles to the NGOs on the front lines of our environmental crisis, every step is crucial. Without their vital contributions it would be impossible to achieve our goal of amazing candles which have a positive impact on the environment.
