Coral reefs are one of the most critically endangered ecosystems on the planet. Threatened by rising temperatures, overfishing, and pollution their very survival is in doubt. Saving them will require not just protection and preservation but also rehabilitation and rebuilding. By saving the reefs we can, and building new reefs where possible, we will ensure these treasured resources remain with us.
Aquaculture Development for the Environment is a wonderful group which is already doing this important work. For over twenty years they have been assisting local communities in preserving their reefs and rebuilding new ones. While their focus is in Fiji they contribute to reef restoration programs worldwide. Groups like ADE are the best hope for solving the challenges facing coral reefs worldwide.
Coral reefs are found in some of the most beautiful environments on earth and our Island Breeze candles capture that essence. When you enjoy the rich, creamy scent with it’s accents of tropical fruits and flowers you’ll practically feel the sand between your toes. Because your candle is produced and packaged as sustainably as possible and includes a donation to help rebuild reefs worldwide you’ll also be helping to ensure that these critically important environments remain for future generations.
Fundamental to our mission of creating greener products is partnering with like minded businesses, NGOs, and civic organizations. From the farmers growing our raw materials to the trucks delivering our candles to the NGOs on the front lines of our environmental crisis, every step is crucial. Without their vital contributions it would be impossible to achieve our goal of amazing candles which have a positive impact on the environment.
